We currently reside on Rossmere Crescent in the new development and we pay very high property taxes compared to our last house on Ashpoint Road for less service. The town has come out twice in the last few weeks and cleared Stoneridge Drive of snow but has not bothered to clear Rossmere Crescent. Stoneridge Drive has about 10 houses in phase two that are inhabited compared to 32 houses on Rossmere Crescent. The school bus comes down Stoneridge Drive part way and then drives on the complete Rossmere Crescent on school days. I called the town about getting our street plowed and they came back with the excuse that Stoneridge Drive is a major street so it gets plowed and ours doesn’t. It seems that the taxpayers of this new development are paying for the construction workers ease of access to this area while our children play in an unsafe environment. Why do we have to pay such high taxes for the benefit of the construction companies? When we lived on Ashpoint, our street was plowed regularly and there are about the same number of houses.
