The North American Flyball Association held its Region 8 Flyball tournament at the curling rink in Stonewall May 5 and 6. The popular dog sport pits two teams of four dogs against each other in a relay race. The dogs must jump over hurdles to a spring-loaded flybox and release a tennis ball by pressing a special pad, then race back with the ball, over the hurdles to their handlers. An Electronic Judging System uses lights and infrared timing sensors, to track starts, passes, finishes, and times to the thousandth of a second.
