Sam Sampano has realized her ringette dream.

The Narol resident recently signed with Manitoba Intact of the National Ringette League.

“It’s pretty exciting,” Sampano said.

The psychiatric nurse said the timing was right for her to sign with Manitoba Intact. Prior to signing, Sampano took part in a ringette series against Gold Rush as an affiliate player. After the series, Sampano explained to The Selkirk Journal that the team's head coach invited her to join the team as a full time roster player.

“It also meant that I would be practicing and having a chance to go to nationals this year. I weighed my options and I decided to sign with them for the rest of the season,” Sampano noted.

Sampano is no stranger to competing at a high level as she represented Team Manitoba at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
