Permits issued in Stonewall show growth

Building permits issued in Stonewall show the community has been experiencing exponential growth. A total of seven permits were issued in December with a total value of $289,2000.

The year-to-date 2017 total assessed value for Stonewall stood at $8,575,368, compared to $4,7 million in 2016. The increase in permit issuance and value was largely due to more residential and developmental projects coming to the town.

“The assessed value of all our construction activity is almost double what it was in 2016,” Mayor Lockie McLean said, adding, “Stonewall is really vibrant right now.”

In the RM of Rockwood, there were 12 permits issued for renovations, residential, and developmental needs, totalling $568,409 in December. The year-to-date total value for the RM stood at $8,031,488.

In the RM of Rosser, one permit was issued for renovations worth $261,763.The year-to-date total for Rosser stood at $7,266,528.
