The Selkirk Steelers fought hard against the OCN Blizzard in back-to-back home games at the Selkirk Recreation Complex.
It took overtime, but the Steelers won the first game 5-4 Sept. 29. Scoring the overtime winner for the hometown Steelers was Nate Halvorsen on a pass from Brady Castellano.
Selkirk was unable to capitalize on the moment from the victory the night before losing 5-4 in the re-match Oct. 1.
After four games played, the Steelers have a record of one win and three losses. They sit in eighth place out of the 11 teams in the MJHL.
Selkirk took on the Waywayseecappo Wolverines at the Waywayseecappo Arena Complex Oct. 3, but the final score was not available by press time.
The Steelers face-off against the Neepawa Natives at the Yellowhead Centre Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and take to the ice against the Virden Oil Capitals at the Tundra Oil & Gas Place Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
The team’s next home game is against the Winnipeg Blues at the Selkirk Recreation Complex Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
