Warren Wildcats win big in volleyball tournaments

Both the Warren Wildcats’ varsity girls’ and varsity boys teams claimed tournament titles as they came home with gold from tournaments at Goose Lake High School Sept 29 and 30.
The Wildcat girls started the Angel Invitational Tournament by playing the host Goose Lake High Angels. Their first game lasted only two sets with the Wildcats reeling in the victory with scores of 25-16 and 25-11. The team then faced the Major Pratt Trojans who they defeated 25-20 and 25-23. The final game of the tournament was the only one to go the entire three sets with the Wildcats winning the first 25-17, giving away the second 21-25 to the Virden Bears, but coming back for the win in the third 15-6.
The boys varsity team ran away with the title at the Raiders Invitational tournament. Their first game lasted two sets against the Rossburn Raiders. They then moved on to play the host Goose Lake High Raiders taking away two 25-17 victories to win the match. In the final, the team was victorious agains the Major Pratt Trojans who they defeated once again in two sets with scores of 25-11 and 25-18.

Teulon Saints compete
The Teulon Saints boys’ junior varsity volleyball team played in a tournament at West Kildonan Collegiate Sept 30. They faces up against the Gabrielle Roy Les Roys, Sanford Sabres, and the West Kildonan Wolverines. Score were unavailable at press time.
