Las Vegas shooting hits close to home

Stonewall’s Jody Ansell was shot in the right arm while attending a country music festival in Las Vegas Oct. 1.

Ansell described on her Facebook page that medical staff at have been treating her at a hospital in southern Nevada and that she is recovering.

“I’m at the hospital and am ok,” Ansell said on her Facebook wall.

According to news sources a gunman in a high-rise hotel overlooking the Las Vegas Strip opened fire on the country music festival. The tragedy in Las Vegas is now being described as the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.

Answell wasn’t alone as a victim of the mass shooting. It has been reported that 59 festival goers were killed and as many as 500 people were shot, including Ansell and Teulon’s Jan Lambourne, who runs a business in Teulon.
