This year’s 7-Eleven Day celebrations were bigger than ever.
From B.C. to Ontario, all 594 7-Eleven Canada stores gave away 1,500 free Slurpee drinks—a grand total of 891,000 free Slurpee drinks—making it the largest Slurpee drink giveaway in 7-Eleven Canada history.
7-Eleven Day is all about celebrating the fans who make the brand so special. Canadian customers were invited to enjoy a free small Slurpee drink between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. July 11. But, the fun doesn’t end there. Customers also have exclusive new summer flavours to look forward to, available only at 7-Eleven stores across Canada: Mountain Dew Mango Heat, Peach Lemonade and Pepsi Fire Slurpee – while supplies last.
“We’re honoured to have fans who are passionate about Slurpee, and every year 7-Eleven Day is our opportunity to thank them, give back, and celebrate together,” ice President and General Manager of 7-Eleven Canada Doug Rosencrans said.
“It’s apparent through the stories and photos people share with us on social media, that Canadians feel a special connection with our brand, and we want to celebrate that. With Winnipeg claiming the title of Slurpee Capital of the World for the 18th consecutive year, it’s clear that this sense of spirit is unique to Canada.”
7-Eleven Day has become somewhat of an unofficial Canadian holiday, and this year the brand made celebrations all about their customers with a 7-Eleven Day Cup featuring user-generated fan photos. With the 7Rewards app, every 7th cup was free on this particular day. Customers were able to scan their free 7-Eleven Day Cup on the 7Rewards App to earn a punch and get closer to the seventh free Slurpee drink. For a chance to be featured on next year’s 7-Eleven Day Cup, fans are encouraged to upload their selfies from when they enjoyed a Slurpee at Slurpee.ca.
