Roxi's Uptown Cafe in Selkirk is putting together a special menu for Valentine's Day.

Restaurant owner Roxi Bohemier said she always looks forward to the various holidays on the calendar as a way to impress customers.

“It’s another day to wow our customers and to make them feel extra special,” Bohemier said.

Throughout the year, the restaurant that prides itself on a family friendly atmosphere, features large portions.

Some of the items featured on the Valentine’s Day menu served Feb. 14 included blackend New York striploin served on a bed of broccoli puree, with loaded garlic mashed potatoes, roasted zucchini and peppers, drizzled with balsamic reduction.

The second entree featured as salsa fresca chicken with home made pico de gallo, served on a bed of avocado creme with rice pilaf and roasted zucchini and peppers, drizzled with balsamic reduction.

“We’re hoping we will get a big crowd this year,” Bohemier said, just days before Valentine’s Day.
