Sunova Credit Unions across the Interlake have begun undergoing an exciting process: the replacement of old ATMs for the new and improved versions. The Selkirk location was the first to receive the new piece of technology at the beginning of the month.
Selkirk branch manager Cyndi Typliski is very excited about the new machines not because of their impressive features, but because she believes they will provide an even better experience for SCU members.
“As much as we love offering this unique drive-thru service for our members, what they actually want is more important than what we think is cool,” Typliski said.
“We’ve found that members just don’t want to handle more complex transactions through the drive thru lanes.”
Throughout August, SCU branches across the Interlake began receiving the updated ATMs, which provide new features such as a 19” touch screen monitor, new card readers and even the option to skip the paper and have a receipt emailed or texted to the customer instead.
“These won’t be just any ATMs. These babies are the latest and greatest in ATM technology,” Typliski said. “They are more secure, better for the environment and they will enable us to bring more exciting features in the future.”
Chief information officer for Sunova, Dallas Kostna, believes that this update is not a luxury, but necessary for member satisfaction.
“We wanted to make sure that we deliver a valued member experience,” Kostna said. “The new ATMs will meet current and future expectations. Looking ahead, these machines will support video communications for richer transactional experiences and interaction with mobile devices to request a withdrawal prior to arriving at the ATM.”
Users throughout Manitoba can now enjoy features such as a privacy screen, options for cash denominations and the ability to deposit cheques and cash directly into the ATM without the hassle of envelopes.
“We’re thrilled and proud to introduce this new technology to Selkirk and are looking forward to continuing to provide our members with innovative new products and services in the future,” Typliski added.
Sunova has branches in Selkirk, Stonewall, Teulon, Beausejour, Inwood, Pine Falls, Lac du Bonnet, Whitemouth, Pinawa, Oakbank, as well as three in Winnipeg.
